I uploaded a new rivision (r403) for testing, this is an Universal Binary but it is not tested in any way.
You can grab it from here: http://savvy.nl/beta/TeamSpeex-1.0beta-r403.dmg
So, i'm looking for someone with an Intel Mac that can test if everything works, and if it does, please pay extra attention to the Push To Talk key since it has some code that is related to endianness. I'm looking forward to the results.. ![]()
There has been quite alot of bugfixes since the last revision:
- The biggest I can think of is the USB audio or additional audio devices that caused a crash when you tried switching. So I hope that with this revision this problem is out of the world.
New features that are worth mentioning are:
- granting/revoking channel rights (ca/voice/op/aop/avoice)
- managing bans. (Server menu->Show IP Bans) the Add/Remove Ban button will be disabled if you dont have the rights.
- Speex library is updated from 1.0.5 to 1.1.11.1, not sure if there are any performance gains here though.
Please post any feedback on this revision in this thread.
UPDATE:
r403 has a small endian bug that caused sound problems on Intel Macs, grab the Updated Universal Binary that is confirmed to work on Intel:

My neighbor returned his intel mac today but he tested Teamspeex before he did cause half of the programs wouldn't work. He's says it was a waste of money buying a intel. He says there would be much more hangs on a intel than a ppc. He said the teamspeex would run but Rosseta would pop up the message "unexpetacly quit". i'm not exactly clear yet on what happen but i'll write back...

so far so good. im not seeing anything wrong and the performance while in background for me stays below 2 % which is good.
the only thing i really see missing is on pc you can see the image you can put on teamspeak... will this ever be supported or no?

You mean the TeamSpeak server image/banner? I didn't see a real need to add it, as it will kinda look ugly in the drawer imho. maybe if you know a good spot where I can place it or how I can integrate it nicely, I might consider it ![]()
PS: I always disliked how the original TS client stretched the banner to the size of the client window

i don't got a intel Ryfly. i can't even afford Tiger let alone a new computer (Stuck on a G4).
Savvy you could make it a option in Preferences to turn if off or on maybe. then have it either popup right at the top of teamspeex or bottom (maybe another option)
well if you don't want to put that i see nothing missing but the webserver list and we got ourselves up to what the current ts2 has...
btw whats the plans for that?

well i'm having a few problems with this new build,
1. i am getting a 136 ping with 7% packet loss when i tested on a pc with 52 ping and 0% packet loss.
2.
happens when switching people rapidly.
3. after i text message someone on ts the window stays open but will not send text messages anymore unless i close the window and reopen it.

I'm getting number 1 too... When I open the inspect button and click the little refresh icon it goes down slowly. It is quite odd.

do you guys got the same isp??? connecting to the same backbone network?
i sat on ts for 36 hours about and no packet loss and ping was normal (for me).

Peer2Peer programs (especially bittorrent) can cause packetloss.
I'll explain how packetloss works in TeamSpeak:
If the server sents a packet, it expects an ACK packet from the client within a second or so. If it doesn't it will resend the packet to the client until it receives the ACK packet. All the packets the server resent before it received the ACK packet will be counted as lost. For voice packets there are no ACK packets.. and they are not counted.
So if you are downloading/uploading at that time it can affect your connection to the TeamSpeak server.
The higher ping is probably caused of the heartbeat packets (or keepalive), the Windows TeamSpeak client sents a heartbeat packet every second, while TeamSpeex does this every five seconds.

well i wasn't downloading any thing, or using a p2p program, and do not get that much on the older versions of ts. But even it saying i'm having 15% packet loss people say i don't sound any different. i'm just pointing out that the number is not correct or i would be somewhat uncomprehendible.

I'm getting No. 2 also in the revision 377 (or so), but I thought it were only a bug at my PC.
Revision 403 works fine on my G4, but I'm sorry I can't give you information about running on Intel-Macs...

Are you sure you have granted:
- granting/revoking channel rights (ca/voice/op/aop/avoice)
I have SA with all rights and Site Management. (I can alter the spec for each type of member)
But I still can't see any way to grant CA etc. HELP!
The IP bans list works fine.
I'm not getting any losses or high ping Mind, I'm using a real Mac ,lmao, which is what this TS is for! Sorry guys.
Thanks for the good work
Al

Auto-Voice/Auto-Op/Voice/Operator options are only available in Moderated channels. So change the channel to moderated if you want to play with your powers. ![]()
